Don't you think its about time we turn the page on F-Mart? He's been letting us down for to long. He is batting .257 in AAA!

I haven't given up on him. I think he's still a young kid who may be an excellent center fielder. But given that we have Pagan, if FMart could net us a good pitcher, the Mets should consider it.

Happy we agree, I am all for trading F-Mart. His value keeps dropping and we know he is not going to be a good major leaguer

Agreed. They can't get anybody useful for Francoeur, they'd be crazy to trade Pagan, and they'd have to take bad contracts in return for Bay or Beltran's. Also, the Mets can really use all four of them. Beltran is an unknown right now, and will need days off. Francoeur hits lefties well, and is a good guy to have on the bench, especially with Tatis as the Mets only right handed pinch hitter. I wouldn't mess with the Mets' outfield now. And I'm glad that everybody finally agrees that Pagan should always start against righties. If you need to trade an outfielder to get a pitcher I'd see what I can get for guys like FMart and Duda.

Nice post. I mostly agree with you except:
* The Mets have 4 good starters. Time to start believing in RA
* I'd still like to add a reliever, in addition to Takahashi, especially if they can do it by picking up a bad contract and minimizing the cost in prospects.

If the Mets can win the subway series then I will consider this a great week (it will be nice if they can also beat Washington)

I think if you give Murphy a season at Second Base then he can be a god player there. If he stays a few months down in AAA playing Second he will learn something. I am not saying he will be a Gold Glove, but I think he can be consistent

Louis does get on base a lot. I agree that Murph should be in Buffalo learning various positions, especially second base, and playing every day. But I certainly wouldn't be surprised if some other spot opens up. Despite his nice start, Ike may prove that he's not really ready for the show quite yet. He or Wright could get hurt. At the very least, Murph should be a valuable guy off the bench, and the more positions he plays, the more value he has. I somehow doubt he'll ever play second well enough to be a regular there, but I hope I'm wrong on that.

Ike Davis and Jon Niese really played well, Niese with the 7 k's and Davis went 2-4 with a RBI.

After the Game Frenchy gave him a good pie in the face- here is a link.

I miss Murhpy too, but I hope Davis is here to stay, maybe Murphy can play second, he can be a younger upgrade on Luis Castlio
